The B.A. in Urbanism program aims to train professionals who analyze and understand the systemic reality of the city and its territory, who visualize and are able to communicate its social, demographic, physical, environmental, legal, administrative, technological, financial and design characteristics. Through cutting-edge tools, both methodological and technological, they positively influence decision-making focused on solving and guiding urban problems at all their scales.
Its graduates will work with the public, private, social and academic sectors to solve the most pressing urban challenges, both locally and globally; in addition to being capable of translating knowledge into innovative ideas and these into strategic and practical solutions that directly affect the territory at different scales: neighborhood, city, region, state and country.
Competencies
- A Bachelor in Urbanism will graduate from Tec de Monterrey with the following competencies:
- Propose solutions to habitat functioning issues, applying state-of-the-art methods and technologies.
- Generate innovative solutions for regenerating the urban, rural and natural habitat that will elevate quality of life.
- Forecast functional territorial scenarios, based on the systemic analysis of future territorial challenges.
- Manage habitat projects, using territorial analysis tools and public policies with transdisciplinary teams.
Entry profile
Tecnológico de Monterrey is looking for a new generation of students that have finished their high school studies and are talented, enthusiastic individuals, who are committed to the development of their environment and the wellbeing of society; people who have the potential to study an undergraduate program and become leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit, humanistic sense and competitive on an international stage.

Exploration
- You will open your competency file and add to it throughout your degree program.
- You will learn the foundations of the area of Built Environment.
- You will participate in fundamental and exploration challenges from the area of Built Environment, interacting with peers from different degree programs.
- You will study general education courses, selecting them from a collection.
- You will participate in a challenge that integrates all the competencies to be developed in this phase.
Focus
- You will acquire the core competencies of your degree, in other words, those that distinguish it.
- You will participate in more focused challenges to reinforce what you have learned and broaden your basic knowledge.
- You will have the elements to decide whether to deepen your knowledge or diversify and, subsequently, build your specialization plan.
- The Tec Weeks, challenges and overall university experiences will enrich your file.
Specialization

You have decided between diversifying or focusing deeply in your major, which you will achieve by choosing a concentration or a stay, to name a few of your options. The TEC Semester is a flexible time to start.
- You will develop the competencies related to your specialization, increasingly connected to your passions, interests and plans.
- By passing a concentration, you will develop your competencies, and, on graduating, will be a candidate for obtaining a Diploma in that concentration, after meeting the established requirements.
