Even though it’s not something we think about much, a surprising number of devices we use in our daily lives contain an electronic component: vehicles, smart phones, airplanes, robots. Within B.S. in Electronics Engineering, you will learn to play a key role in developing technologies that contribute to applying these innovations in more products, seeking to improve people’s quality of life and increase the competitiveness of organizations and companies.
Career field
On graduating from B.S. in Electronics Engineering, you will be able to work in diverse areas of industry, such as:
Development of smart electronic devices
Design of telecommunications systems
Consulting in electronics, telecommunications and energy systems
Electronics, telecommunication and power electronics research centers
Is this right for you?
If you like technology so much that you are one of those people who doesn’t just use a device, but wants to know how it works in order to create new equipment later on, B.S. in Electronics Engineering is for you.
The B.S. in Electronics Engineering program aims to train professionals with the capability to create, design and generate technology through the use of sensors and intelligent devices that are used in areas such as telecommunications, automated systems, electric energy transformation, robots, cars and medical instruments, with the goal of elevating productivity and competitivity in companies and society's well-being. work successfully in companies in the electrical, electronic, telecommunications and energy sectors. Due to their preparation, they can enter graduate programs in science and engineering areas, or carry out research at universities and/or centers of high international prestige.
Competencies
Develop smart electronic devices that meet quality, reliability and costing standards.
Design telecommunications systems based on sustainable, efficient and reliable performance requirements.
Develop efficient energy conversion and adaptation systems in the area of power electronics.
Entry profile
Tecnológico de Monterrey is looking for a new generation of students that have finished their high school studies and are talented, enthusiastic individuals, who are committed to the development of their environment and the wellbeing of society; people who have the potential to study an undergraduate program and become leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit, humanistic sense and competitive on an international stage.
Entry requirements: High school or equivalent.
The three stages of the model
Choose your path
Exploration
You will open your competency file and add to it throughout your degree program.
You will learn the foundations of the area of Engineering - Innovation and Transformation.
You will participate in fundamental and exploration challenges from the area of Creative Studies, interacting with peers from different degree programs.
You will study general education courses, selecting them from a collection.
You will participate in a challenge that integrates all the competencies to be developed in this phase.
Focus
You will acquire the core competencies of your degree, in other words, those that distinguish it.
You will participate in more focused challenges to reinforce what you have learned and broaden your basic knowledge.
You will have the elements to decide whether to deepen your knowledge or diversify and, subsequently, build your specialization plan.
The Tec Weeks, challenges and overall university experiences will enrich your file.
Specialization
You have decided between diversifying or focusing deeply in your major, which you will achieve by choosing a concentration or a stay, to name a few of your options. The TEC Semester is a flexible time to start.
You will develop the competencies related to your specialization, increasingly connected to your passions, interests and plans.
By passing a concentration, you will develop your competencies, and, on graduating, will be a candidate for obtaining a Diploma in that concentration, after meeting the established requirements.
How can you specialize?
Concentrations
Specialize in one of the different concentrations available at the campus of your choice, according to the profile you would like to develop.
Internships
Internships allow you to participate in the development of specific projects with companies, organizations, or research groups, in a context of total immersion related to a specialty field. They can be carried out locally, nationally or internationally.
International experiences
Experience life outside Mexico to broaden your horizons and delve into the topics of your interest.
